Beaver Creek Skiing, Beaver Creek CO - February 16

Rating - 10.00

Its AWESOME, so beautiful, excellent skiing, beautiful people....and so f***ing expensive!!!! We were there 2/16 - 2/19 and there had not been much snow, but from the 17th on it snowed every day! Runs were well groomed, almost too good after it snowed, but the lines were minimal (really none on T, W) and just a bit more on Th, F. Hot Mamma is a "green" trail skier and there were many too choose from, we especially liked skiing by Bachelors Gulch.

In the afternoon I would head out by myself and I must warn anyone that the "Blacks" are HARD, and I once got lost and stuck on a "Double Diamond" - not a good place for me to be. I did survive after one horrendous fall - but a nice gentleman about 20 years my senior skied down and got my ski, then another 20 feet to where my body lay, looked at me and shook his head and headed down. So much fun!!!

It was great to see all the kids in ski school, all the instructors were great, and there were no parents around. Very kid and family friendly. Rode the lifts with lots of cool people, no jerks at all!

Best thing about flying into Eagle is that the first day of skiing is FREE. Then if you buy a three day pass its $90 a day.

Total - $540.00 (3 days, two people)

Beaver Creek Ski School - it was excellent. We did the 1/2 day session for the two of us and it was really like having a private lesson. We were the only two in a class with an instructor from Austria - he was incredibly friendly and the BEST TEACHER I have ever had. Its great in ski school because there is a separate lift line and you don't wait....also free tea/hot chocolate/cookie at the top of the mountain. Instruction was awesome and if you take a lesson midweek chance are you will be in a very small group. It would be VERY expensive to do a private lesson.

Total - $240.00

We loved to eat lunch around 1 at the Spruce Saddle restaurant located on the top of the mountain. It was either eat at 11:30 or after 1 because the lines were just too long. Food was EXCELLENT - I loved the fresh turkey sandwich, and Mamma loved the salads, and with 2 drinks it was a good deal

Total - $28.55

HATED having lunch at Red Tail Camp - horrible food, terrible selection and expensive - 2 sandwich's, 2 drinks, Total - $40.20

Please see my other reviews of the Park Hyatt, Gorsuch (rentals) and dinners at Zachs (the best), Grouse Mountain Grill (damn good), Spendido (expensive, decent), Allegria Spa (expensive, great message) and 8100 Mountainside Grill (expensive, and TERRIBLE - OVER RATED).
